Here is an attempt to help the business owners on how to engaging and motivating their employees to get business succeed. I have kept together the concepts, process, tips, and ideas. This is supposed to work for all business may be it a small or big business.

What is the Motivation?

Motivation is the concept used to explain the intensity and direction of some behaviors of people. Let us see what the motivation is.

Concept: It is the process that drives a person to have sustained behaviors and aimed at achieving certain goals.

It implies that the person has a goal you want to achieve and is willing to make some effort to get it. This effort is “oriented”, i.e., has a direction and this direction allows the person to assess whether the conduct or behavior observed, therefore, are suitable or not to achieve the goal.

The employee is willing to exert the effort steadily until you achieve your goal. Therefore, it is a process, it begins with an unfilled need that awakens the desire to satisfy and start behavior to achieve it.

Motivation in the companies helps will employees to make a big commitment to achieving the goals of the organization, determining the possibility that will satisfy any individual need effort.

It is important to note that intensive efforts or high-designation employees are channeled in a direction that will benefit the company as may be the case of an individual who makes a high degree of effort but it does not help to achieve the objectives organizationally or even go against them. Another important point is that individual needs are compatible and consistent with the goals of the company.

Motivation Process

As mentioned in the previous section, the motivation is a process, i.e., develops in stages. The trigger process is started when a person experiences or becomes aware of an unmet need.

We will present the process of motivation as a process through which the needs are met.

  1. First Stage: Unsatisfied Need

The first stage is the unsatisfied need. The need is deficient, a deficiency in a particular aspect the person experiences at any given time. That is, the person feels that lacks something or that something is missing, whether physical, psychological, social or spiritual.

  1. Second Stage: The Emergence Of Tension

The second stage is the emergence of stress. The feeling brings up an unmet need in the person discomfort, tension and, therefore, raises the desire to satisfy it.

  1. Third Stage: Activation Of Impulses

The third stage is the activation of the pulse energy is activated to perform the actions that lead an individual to satisfy their need. This energy is crystallized desires, projects, and images of what could meet your need.

Not everyone experiences the same needs with the same intensity. Therefore, it is difficult for the same thing motivates everyone and in the same way.

  1. Fourth Stage: Behavior Oriented

The fourth stage is oriented behavior. The impulses and desires cause the person to initiate and maintain behaviors that lead to believe that the satisfaction of his need. That is, behavior acquires a direction, an intention. At this time, it is important to periodically assess if the behaviors are effectively leading the person to achieve his goal.

  1. Fifth Stage: Need of Satisfaction

The fifth stage is the need of satisfaction, which is achieved when the person reaches the goal that was set. The need motivation originated the process disappears. And a satisfied need no longer motivates. However, to satisfy a need it allows the emergence of new needs, in turn, begin the process of motivation.

  1. Sixth stage: Stress Reduction

The sixth stage is to reduce the tension. This happens when the person ceases to feel the deficiency or lack that caused the motivation process. Motivated people are in a state of tension and to decrease exerting much effort. In fact, the greater is the pressure, the greater the effort. If this effort leads them to meet the need, the tension decreases.

In the workplace, it is important that the efforts exerted by employees to meet their goals do not go against the company. It is necessary that the organizational goals and individual goals are compatible.

It is the employees to achieve the goals of the company also meet their individual needs and achieve their personal goals.
